Good morning Loves. Let me ask you a question, how is your work life? I don’t mean how much money do you make or did you get that recent promotion? I mean when your alarm clock goes off in the morning are you happy to get out of bed and head off to work?
Crazy co-workers made for long days at work
The reason I ask is because I have been working since I was 15 years old and let me tell you I have had some crazy co-workers and some controlling managers over the last 18 years. I once had a manager who told employees that only prostitutes wear red nail polish. She actually prohibited all employees from wearing the color red at the office. It turns out this manager was actually committing fraud so she was demoted – karma.
I once had a co-worker who was married but sleeping with another co-worker in the office. She was a little bit emotionally unstable and her mood would swing depending on her office romance. If our co-worker treated her well she would be happy and bring in cupcakes. But if he ditched her at lunch and went to eat with his friends she would be angry and lash out at customers. She was eventually fired.
How to deal with a crazy co-worker
Work is where we spend the majority of our days and our co-workers are the people we send most of our time with. So shouldn’t we enjoy it?
Remember my crazy co-worker who called me a really bad name at the office? Well to say at that particular moment I didn’t really like my job would be the understatement of the day. I wouldn’t wish that experience upon anyone. I am going to give you signs that your co-worker is a little bit crazy and possibly a total psycho.
A recent article from Workopolis tells us all about the signs to watch out for at work and how to identify a crazy co-worker. I love that they used the photo of Christian Bale from American Psycho in the post. If you haven’t seen the movie American Psycho you really need to download it on Netflix. It’s the perfect example of how someone can be so perfect in their work life and a total psycho in real life. The moral of the story is eventually craziness will catch up with you and then s%#@ will hit the fan.
Where are all the crazies hiding?
Workopolis lists the traits of crazy co-workers as being uncaring, irresponsible, and selfish and over confident people. These types of people are commonly found in professions such as lawyers, sales people, clergy men, chefs, journalists and surgeons.
If you do have a crazy co-worker my advice is to stay away. Be polite but don’t try to be their friend. Keep them at arm’s length, but smile at them. This way you won’t get too close but if they do come into the office with an automatic weapon you won’t be the target.
